MMA is relatively new when compared to practices like Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, or even boxing, for that matter. However, this young sport has gained traction all around the world rather rapidly and is on par with other martial arts in terms of popularity already. Challenged an MMA instructor and regretted it immediately
A clip on YouTube shows a young, brash pupil trying to teach an MMA instructor about the sport. The video starts with the young student explaining the workings of blocking a kick and how he can defend himself from any kind of kick. “Any kick. Any kick, it wouldn’t matter,” said the student. He continued with confidence, “I’m just gonna get that leg, and I’m gonna stop you.” The instructor seemed visibly patient throughout the gimmick and tried to make sense of the situation.

The coach offered to go easy at first when the student challenged the coach to demonstrate his skill. The learner, however, didn’t like the way it sounded and adamantly persisted in sparring, but didn’t pick the right words. “You’ve been disrespectful the whole time… You’ve been putting me down this whole time since I’ve been here,” said the student. And that ticked the coach off completely.
The coach responded, saying, “That’s how you feel, my man? You sure you wanna put some gloves on now? Sure you wanna spar?”. The coach strikes at the brazen student who was perched on a throne of lies and gave him a taste of the ground soon after. Hence, the saying stands true here, “History has never been kind to people who play God” or coach, for that matter.
