While not much is known about his fiancee, Turner is the youngest of three children and was raised by his mother, Deidra, and elder sister, Lakisha Shaw. His mother was initially hesitant about Jalin’s fighting career, but she came around eventually.

Turner, who grew up in poverty, started training MMA as a teen, using his couch as a punching bag. This was because he couldn’t afford any of the equipment required to train, and made do with the limited resources he had.

Fast forward almost a decade and a half, and ‘Tarantula’ is scheduled to face up-and-coming lightweight prospect Renato ‘Money’ Moicano on the historic UFC 300 anniversary mega-card and has made it so that he can take good care of his family, including his wife Mary Turner and two kids.
