The 55-year-old is one of the most well-known commentators in UFC’s history. Rogan has amazed fight fans with his extraordinary knowledge of the technical aspects of MMA. Along with Rogan, fans will also get to see former UFC two-division champion Daniel Cormier and UFC play-by-play commentator Jon Anik.

Joe Rogan is back as the UFC color commentator

 The last time Rogan was seen in the commentary booth was when Amanda Nunes faced Irene Aldana at UFC 289. As known by fans, the 55-year-old stopped traveling around the world for UFC events some years ago. He only attends US-based PPV events. However, he made an exception for UFC 289 in Canada. As reported by MMA Fighting Rogan would now be playing the role of color commentator when Alexander Volkanovski locks horns against Yair Rodriguez.

The title unification match is expected to blow the roof off the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Another title bout will take place between two-time flyweight champion Brandon Moreno and Alexandre Pantoja. Rogan’s commentary will undoubtedly add more vibrance to the whole event.

Rogan’s journey as a color commentator

The MMA world knows Rogan as a color commentator for the UFC. Nonetheless, the 55-year-old has played various roles in his long career. Rogan began his career as a stand-up comedian; later, he became a part of NewsRadio. In 1997, Rogan joined the UFC. At the beginning of his UFC career, Rogan was a backstage and post-fight interviewer. The very first event for Rogan was UFC 12: Judgement Day, which took place on February 7, 1997.

However, the JRE podcaster had to leave UFC as he was not able to afford the travel expenses. Later, when Dana White became a part of the promotion, White invited his friend, Joe Rogan, back to the UFC as a color commentator. Even though Rogan was not ready to accept the offer in the beginning, eventually he became a part of the promotion. Now, Rogan is one of the most popular commentators in the UFC. His presence during fights adds more excitement to fans who are waiting for a great fight experience.
