‘The 32-year-old Polish’, stunned the UFC world when he submitted the known UFC Lightweight, Jeremy Stephens, within 65 seconds from the beginning of the bout. Despite Stephens trying every bit to hold his hand close to his body, ‘Gamer’ eventually managed to separate it and ended the fight with a Kimura. Well, as already mentioned, Gamrot has trained in the grappling-based martial art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Reportedly, he also holds the coveted black belt in the art, much like Nate Diaz. However, there are no reports detailing the degree of his black belt like Diaz, who holds a 3rd-degree black belt.

Which gym does Mateusz Gamrot train at?

UFC Fighters often associate themselves with a local training facility for regular training. However, a number of them have also gone through special training camps at different MMA training facilities in order to prepare for a specific fight. Gamrot also may have traveled to a number of MMA gyms around the world for such specialized training camps.

Several fans also may have witnessed Gamrot sporting an ‘American Top Team’ logo on his shorts during his fights. This is because he mostly trains at the coveted ‘American Top Team’ for his specialized training camps prior to his bouts.

However, he associates himself with the MMA gym in Poland for his regular training. Reports say that ‘Czerwony Smok’ has also produced a number of other noteworthy fighters like the former UFC Heavyweight, Damian Grabowski and noted KSW star Borys Mankowski.

‘Tapology’ also details that he has submitted his opponents 5 times to gain a victory, while his 17 other wins have come by other methods. It also forms a healthy 23% ‘win via submission’ percentage for ‘the 32-year-old Polish’ in his entire pro-MMA career.

When Mateusz Gamrot Nearly Choked Show Host Unconscious

‘Gamer’ gained massive hype in his home country of Poland following his UFC Vegas 57 victory against the known UFC Lightweight, Arman Tsarukyan. During this time ‘The American Top Team trainee’ once visited a popular Polish internet sports show hosted by Maciej Turski. Looking at the crowd hype behind Gamrot, Turski asked him to demonstrate a few choking techniques that fighters often use to submit their opponents.

However, he probably had no idea about the trouble that would follow. Gamrot stood up to demonstrate an elevated guillotine choke on Turski. Although ‘Gamer’ released it within a few seconds, Turski still found himself in a nearly choked-out condition.

Turski also let Gamrot know about his uncomfortable condition with a few taps as soon as ‘Gamer’ put him in the choke. Well, the consequences could have been pretty different if Gamrot held onto the choke for a few more seconds.
