“Is Miesha Tate Okay?” – Fans Concerned for the Former Champion as Lauren Murphy Leaves Her Bleeding & Bruised at UFC Long Island

UFC Fight Night: Ortega vs. Rodriguez main card kicked off in style with Lauren Murphy earning a well-deserved victory against veteran Miesha Tate. This was a big upset, considering Tate has much more experience than Murphy. Fans reacted to this action-packed bout, showing concerns for Tate.

Round 1 of the fight started with the two women throwing test jabs to feel out each other’s range. Murphy put her outstanding striking skills on full display as she got the better of the exchanges in round 1. Tate landed a few good strikes, but nothing seemed to hurt Murphy. Murphy’s slick head movement helped her evade the jabs thrown by Tate.

Tate switched up her style by trying to take down Murphy in round 2. But Murphy’s takedown defense and strength were too much for the former UFC champion to handle. Murphy continued to throw shots and get the better of the exchanges. Tate seemed to have no solid answer for Murphy, and dominated the majority of the round.

Tate landed a few good counter hooks on Murphy at the start of round 3. Unfortunately for her, Murphy denied letting her gain any momentum and answered back with a few combinations of her own. Tate couldn’t keep up with the pace of Murphy and needed something spectacular to win. Ultimately, Murphy won the bout via a unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28).

The MMA Fans were quick to react to this fight on Twitter. Most of them were disappointed with Tate’s performance and speculated if she would retire.

With this big win, Murphy has now won six out of her last seven bouts and will likely be looking to fight for the title or one of the top contenders. Either way, she has proved that she is a force to be reckoned with and not be taken lightly. She now has a professional record of 16 wins and five losses.

As for Tate, she has lost four out of her last five bouts. It is unclear who she will fight next or what’s next for her, but we hope the former champion can get back to her winning ways. With this loss in the books, she now has a professional record of 19 wins and 9 losses.
