“…Is More on the Ball Than America” : Joe Rogan Weighs in on TikTok Ban by Giving a Fascinating Example
The 1923 episode of the ‘Joe Rogan Experience’ included a discussion on a variety of topics between Joe Rogan and Mike Baker. The impact of social media on the current generation was one of the most important subjects. The American-British technical advisor expressed concern about the nature of social networking sites and how kids are drawn to them. According to Baker, children are constantly exposed to new technologies. They claim that youngsters today are extremely intelligent and can easily navigate new technology and social media sites.
Joe Rogan found it fascinating
Baker made further attempts to spread awareness about the harmful impact of social media platforms like TikTok. He discussed how efforts to enact regulations for children on these sites are futile. It was then that Rogan expressed his opinion on India’s TikTok ban before America. He said, “They just banned TikTok in India, which I just found fascinating. India is more on the ball than America”.

In June 2020, India banned TikTok and almost 300 other Chinese applications due to worries about national security. At the time, TikTok had more than 200 million users in India, its largest international market. The Chinese app was attempted to be banned from the United States by former president Donald Trump, who saw it as a threat to the country’s security. However, he was unable to put the ban into effect. Joe Biden, the current president of the United States, has recently taken action regarding the social media site.
The US government takes a stand
Due to concerns about the parent organization, ByteDance, which is based in China, the US government has forbidden TikTok from being downloaded to federally owned devices. The present administration is concerned that TikTok could be used by the Chinese government to gain access to such devices and US user data.

Because even children use these sites, Rogan and Baker agree that this was a wise choice. They believe that exposing children to obscene and violent content is harmful. Although it is tough to stop them from accessing certain sites, a ban can greatly assist. Everyone has access to technologies; it is up to the user to decide how to use them wisely. They can be employed for both a nation’s rise and decline.
