This week, undefeated UFC featherweight Movsar Evloev will face the No. 3-ranked Lerone Murphy at UFC Fight Night 270 in London. Evloev has impressed UFC fans with a perfect 9-0 record in the promotion, yet surprisingly, many still know relatively little about him.
Interestingly, Evloev fights in a style that closely mirrors Khabib Nurmagomedov, not only in technique but also in the dominance he imposes on his opponents. Naturally, this similarity has sparked speculation that the two might be related. But is there any truth to that? Let’s examine the facts.

Where is Movsar Evloev from? What is his ethnicity and nationality?
The undefeated UFC featherweight was born in Ingushetia, Russia, on February 11, 1994. He belongs to the Ingush tribe Youvloy, a minority group in Russia. Ingushetia, where Movsar Evloev was born, is predominantly inhabited by the Muslim community. Based on posts from Evloev’s Instagram, we can confirm that the 32-year-old follows Islam.

As for his personal life, Movsar Evloev has four brothers and one sister. Movsar Evloev is quite keen on keeping his private affairs out of the public eye, which is one reason why not much is known about the featherweight fighter. Evloev has been on a dominant streak after joining the UFC, and this has led many to speculate that the 32-year-old is related to ‘The Eagle’ Khabib Nurmagomedov. So, are the two actually siblings?
Is there a connection between Movsar Evloev and Khabib Nurmagomedov?
Khabib Nurmagomedov has no personal connection with Movsar Evloev, since Khabib comes from the Avar ethnic group. However, their shared region has fostered mutual respect. Fans already know about Movsar Evloev’s ethnic background. While Khabib has supported fighters like Islam Makhachev and his cousin Umar Nurmagomedov, he has not formed a direct personal relationship with Evloev.
Still, Khabib has consistently backed Evloev. Last year, he criticized the UFC for keeping Evloev from a title shot, just as they did with other Russian fighters.
“I think that feeling started in the last couple of years, when they didn’t give Evloev the shot at 9-0,” Khabib said. “They were stalling Ankalaev too. Then there’s that whole situation with [Muhammad] Mokaev. With Khamzat, it’s his own thing — visas and all that. All of it together, though, it definitely creates that kind of impression.”
Now, Movsar Evloev wants to bring some silverware home. So, the big question is, can he maintain his undefeated streak against Lerone Murphy?
