White claimed that the fight would question how hungry ‘The Lioness’ actually was. He revealed that she has got money, a great life, and a family. This made the UFC president wonder if she still had the killer instincts that she had back in July 2022.

The UFC boss said, “The thing that I love about it is obviously Amanda Nunes and Aldana is such a savage, you know what I mean. I think it’s gonna be one of those fights where how hungry is Amanda still, you know. Amanda’s got a lot of money, she’s got a great life. She’s got a family, now, you know. Is she still the same killer with the same killer instinct that she had when she got the title. Because, you know, Aldana is. We know what to expect from Aldana.”

Nevertheless, Nunes left the gym she trained for the longest time as she comes into UFC 289.
