‘The Great’ went a step ahead and revealed the venue, which he had already decided in his mind. It’s pertinent to note that after the UFC 284 main event decision was revealed, the crowd at the RAC Arena went berserk. Understandably, they had anticipated their homeboy, ‘Volk’, to be declared as the winner. But, the arena was overflowing with ‘boos’ as Islam Makhachev was announced as the victor of the UFC 284 main event.

‘Volk’ losing out his ‘no.1 UFC pound-for-pound fighter’ title due to this defeat, apparently added to the anger of the crowd. But, Volkanovski was witnessed making attempts to silence the crowd while the boos went out of control. It was evident that he didn’t appreciate this rude response.

Hence, ‘Volk’ tried to make things even with his choice of venue for the rematch as he stated, “Maybe Abu Dhabi. You deserve one in Abu Dhabi”. Most fans would agree that this was a great show of fair play by ‘Volk’ who apparently wanted everything to be on even ground.

Alexander Volkanovski foresaw the rematch as his turn to get booed
