The main event of UFC 322 is just hours away, and while fans buzz with anticipation, YouTube commentator MMA Guru has given everyone something unexpected to talk about. As Islam Makhachev aims to become a two-division champion—surpassing the legacy of his mentor, Khabib Nurmagomedov—Jack Della Maddalena stands firmly in his path, ready for his first title defense at Madison Square Garden.

But even before the fighters step into the Octagon, controversy has already begun swirling. According to a YouTube content creator, MMA Guru, the result of the fight may have been leaked—or at least that’s what it looked like. Just a couple of hours ago, the popular content creator took to X to share a bizarre incident that he says affected him and hundreds of others. So, what exactly happened?

MMA Guru sheds light on shady news update

Well, Guru asked his fans, “Did anyone else get a notification on their phone from Google with the news ‘Makhachev wins title?’ ‘Islam Makhachev defeated Jack Della Maddalena at UFC 322.’” He claimed the news update even came with a picture of Jack Della Maddalena holding a ball under his right arm. “About an hour ago? My chat did too, this is f—king weird,” he added in the tweet.

It’s still unclear what caused this notification to appear, but several people seem to have received the same strange update. Of course, Islam Makhachev and Jack Della Maddalena haven’t even stepped into the cage yet. In the meantime, though, once fans saw MMA Guru’s post on X, they quickly jumped in to share their own reactions and similar experiences.

Fans reveal this has happened to them before

One user refused to believe Guru was telling the truth. The user wrote, “Cmon Gu your reaching now.” However, from the plethora of screenshots shared in the comment section of the post, it’s undeniable.

Another user backed MMA Guru’s claims. The user commented, “It’s absolutely real, I got this one earlier 😂.” Some are theorizing that Google’s AI might have something to do with it.

This user revealed they were panicking when they saw the notification on their phone. The user claimed, “I thought I missed the fights when that notification came up.” Thankfully, that wasn’t the case.

Someone else claimed the same thing happened to them before the Tom Aspinall vs. Ciryl Gane fight. The user wrote, “Happened to me with Tom Aspinall fight, it said Tom defends his belt with R1 KO!!!! So, Prb ignore it.” It could be a way to farm some traffic.

Meanwhile, this user claimed the same thing happened to them before the Maddalena vs. Belal Muhammad fight. The user wrote, “Had that happen today, too. I will say I had the same thing happen before the Belal-JDM fight that said Belal won by decision. I think it has to do with AI adding in fight prediction sources.” However, these instances were not reported.

Right now, it’s not clear why Google is sending those notifications, but it shouldn’t take long to be patched. Did you get the notification?
