Although Charles Oliveira was initially slated to challenge Makhachev for the title defense, there’s been no word from either of them regarding the fight. Justin Gaethje, on the other hand, has been calling out desperately for a title fight to Dana White.

The ͏BMF champion has been issuing threats to Makhachev about the title defense and in his most recent escapade, “Highlight” cal͏led out Makha͏chev and brushed off Oliveira as the next potential title contender. Respond͏ing on X, Gaethje commented on a clip showcas͏ing his remarkable second-round head kick knockout against Dust͏in Poirier at ͏UFC 291.

He wrote, “Waiting on the call. Ready when you are @ufc, @danawhite. Let’s see who can kick the other’s head off first @MAKHACHEVMMA. ‘Do Bronx’ had his shot and didn’t show up for the rematch. It is what it is.” Gaethje head-on challenged Makhachev by implying that he would do the same.
