Yahoo! Sports’ Kevin Iole brought Poirier’s frustration about not getting a bout to the UFC President’s attention. Mr. White dismissed the idea that they are having a tough time finding an opponent for the former interim lightweight champion or any other superstar in the UFC.
“I don’t think he’s getting shut off at every corner. I wouldn’t feel too bad for anybody. Listen, we make fights, I got to make fights, think about this, I have to make three fights a year for everybody on the roster. So, nobody’s just sitting around going, ‘oh, I can’t find a fight. Why can’t I get [a fight]?'” replied the UFC President.

The 52-year-old added, “If I don’t keep my obligations to them, then I have to pay them without fighting. So, what would that tell you? I wouldn’t tell you that, but probably, it’s probably not what you’re hearing probably isn’t 100% the truth.”
