The rivalry between Alex Pereira and Israel Adesanya is arguably one of the toughest ones to resolve. Following their matchup against each other for the fourth time, the two have been going after each other for quite a while now. Even though many people in the combat sports universe believed that UFC 287 would finally bring an end to the deep-rooted rivalry between Pereira and Adesanya, things took a different turn as the two dived into the internet and jabbed at each other on social media.

First, Adesanya decided to return the favor to Pereira’s son and sister. This was followed by a social media post where the ‘Poatan’ declared that he was the better fighter and tried to prove it with numbers. Without a doubt, ‘The Last Stylebender’ didn’t keep quiet. He sent a reply on Twitter, thereby revealing his beliefs of having better quality of skills. Now Pereira has returned to Twitter with a quirky reply for the Nigerian warrior. But, Adesanya isn’t known for keeping his words to himself. He instantly came up with a reply to Pereira’s latest Tweet.

Alex Pereira continues the online war with Israel Adesanya
After Adesanya remarked that, although Pereira had three wins over him against his one victory, it was quality that made him superior to his Brazilian rival. Undeniably, ‘Poatan’ didn’t keep quiet. He took to Twitter and explained how he was indeed the better fighter.

Pereira recounted the events of their previous fights. He stated that in their first-ever fight during their kickboxing days, Adesanya was knocked out and helped into the stretcher. Then, he defeated the ‘Stylebender’ via decision. In their third fight, he recalled that he knocked out Adesanya. Finally, he wrote, “That’s more of a quality than 1 KO in UFC.”

Quoting Matthew McConaughey’s character, Mark Hanna, from The Wolf Of Wall Street, Israel Adesanya on his Instagram story, while sharing the Brazilian’s Tweet, wrote, “Lol. It was all fugazi.” Undoubtedly, neither fighter wishes to bow down and conclude the seemingly eternal rivalry.

Adesanya and Pereira indulged in a cold war after UFC 287
Immediately after knocking out Pereira at UFC 287, Adesanya celebrated his victory with the Brazilian’s iconic bow and arrow celebration. Howbeit, that’s not where things settled down. It was, in fact, the beginning of the next phase of the feud. Adesanya continued his celebrations and mocked Pereira’s son and sister.

After a couple of days of silence, the Pataxó tribe’s champion tweeted that he had a better score against Adesanya. He wrote, “We are the best. But I’m still better. Numbers don’t lie. 3:1.” The Nigerian fighter was quick to reply with another tweet. He replied, “It’s Quality over quantity over here. 3-1, you can keep that. Whatever helps you SLEEP at night…”
