After beating rival Alex Pereira in ecstatic fashion at UFC 287, UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya is eyeing a return to the octagon. Following a recent announcement from the UFC, ‘The Last Stylebender’ took to social media to make his intentions known.
In a recent announcement, UFC president Dana White confirmed they were going back to Australia for a second time this year. They headed over to ‘The Land Down Under’ for UFC 284 in February. UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski fought lightweight champion Islam Makhachev in the main event of the Perth PPV.

UFC 284 delivered big time with exciting fights. Australian fans made the event all the more memorable with energy that surged through the roof. Therefore, it was not a tough decision for the UFC to return once more this year. White announced that UFC 293 will go down in Sydney on September 10. He also added that this was one of three events that would go down as part of a four-year deal they made with the New South Wales government.
Following the news, Israel Adesanya took to Instagram and gave a strong hint that he wants to compete on the Sydney PPV.

Adesanya shared an Instagram post announcing the UFC’s return to Australia on his IG story. The 33-year-old added the eye emojis, suggesting his interest in the card. Therefore, fans now have a timeline for Adesanya’s return to the cage.

But that is not all. The middleweight champion’s potential opponents have also been announced. In a blockbuster announcement a few weeks ago, Dana White announced Robert Whittaker vs. Dricus Du Plessis for UFC 290. The UFC head honcho added the winner would face Adesanya later this year in Sydney.
