Israel Adesanya Hints at a Massive UFC Event in Africa- “Dana Wants to Do That Even for His Own Resume”

Israel Adesanya, the UFC middleweight champion, claimed UFC will have one of the biggest events in Africa soon.

UFC has had many successful events in parts of America, including New York, Arizona, and Florida. The promotion also had events in countries in the middle east and it will also have a UFC Fight Night in England next month.

However, although the UFC has three champions from Africa, it is yet to have an event on the continent. Recently, UFC president Dana White, after UFC 271, claimed he had plans for a massive event in Africa. And interestingly, the UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya has double-downed on White’s claims.

In a recent interview with Sky Sports, ‘The Last Stylebender’ said, “That’s already, without a doubt, that’s going to happen. That is I don’t have to negotiate that in.”

“I think Dana wants to do that even for his own resume, you know. Putting on a fight on the great continent of Africa, you know.” – Izzy concluded. 

Israel Adesanya says Jared Cannonier is his next opponent

‘The Last Stylebender’ is currently undefeated in the middleweight division. Also, he has defeated most of the best fighters from the roster. Recently, he defended his 185lbs title for the fourth title in his career, against his rival Robert Whittaker at UFC 271.

Having defeated most of the fighters, Izzy is waiting for his next viable opponent. However, the champion knows what is next for him. In the same interview, Izzy said, “I do know what’s next. Jared Cannonier is next. He is my next opponent. I am gonna take care of him.”

‘The Killa Gorilla’ recently secured his second straight win at UFC 271. He currently stands at number two in the middleweight division. Also, White claimed he will not deny Cannonier’s title shot demands.

Hence, we might soon see this fight happening. However, fans will have to wait for the official announcement from UFC.
