Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland‘s dislike for each other has been on full display throughout the UFC 293 build-up. On his most recent appearance on the JRE show, Strickland complained about “Izzy” and his “low” character, calling him unreliable.

Citing Izzy’s “My heart is Chinese” comments, he also asserted that Adesanya was Chinese rather than African. Adesanya has publicly stated that he plans to “smack Tarzan on the a**” and has pledged to wear nail polish during his fight with the American. Strickland is known for talking during the fight to distract his opponents, a practice he is sure to continue in his fight against ‘Izzy’. But Adesanya has the perfect solution to shut ‘Tarzan’ up.

Israel Adesanya threatens to break Strickland’s jaw

In a conversation with TMZ Sports, Adesanya said that if Strickland talks to him during their fight at UFC 293 tonight, he will break ‘Tarzan’s jaw to shut him up. He warned that the verbose American might get hit with one of his lightning quick jabs while talking, which would not end well for the #6 ranked middleweight.

“I do wanna shut him up and I’m gonna shut him up. I’m gonna break his jaw if he keeps talkin’ to me while he’s in there…you never know when a shot’s coming, the jab can hit you while your mouth open and send your jaw to the back of your head,” Adesanya said.

‘Stylebender’ is also going to great lengths to embarrass Strickland. He has stated that he will be wearing nail paint in their fight to tick off the American. The Kiwi has also promised to knock out the challenger and do a TikTok dance on his knocked out body. The stakes are as high as they could be for Strickland.

‘Izzy’ thinks Strickland should thank him

Adesanya added that the American should be thankful to him as he is the reason Strickland is traveling to abroad for the first time. He added that ‘Tarzan’ should also be grateful to him for giving him the opportunity to fight for the title and better pay.

“[Sean] should just thank me… He gets to travel out of the country for the first time. He should really appreciate the fact that I got him the opportunity and he’s gonna get paid,” the middleweight champion added.

Few people are picking Strickland to win the fight. And Adesanya seems supremely confident as indicated by his trash-talk. But, if he is able to defeat Adesanya in what would easily be among the biggest upsets in UFC history, not only will he humiliate Adesanya, but write his name in bold letters in the annals of mixed martial arts.
