Israel Adesanya Reveals Why UFC Event in Africa Is Being Delayed

Israel Adesanya, the current king of the Middleweight division, is the leading headliner for the UFC. His skills and ability to entertain never fail, and that’s what the sport is all about. 

The UFC as a promotion for the sport of MMA has skyrocketed in the past decade. The promotion has pushed the boundaries of MMA and how people could view it in terms of entertainment and not just art. 

The UFC is a multifaceted promotion visiting and making events in various countries worldwide. It has been to Canada, England, and Ireland, to name a few. The growth of the UFC will exponentially increase when its reach expands to certain other countries in the world.

Israel Adesanya speculates causes of delay for UFC Africa 

In an interview with talkSPORT, Stylebender talked about several topics and also addressed his opinions about an event held in Africa by the UFC. When he was asked about a UFC event in Africa, this is what Stylebender had to say.

With reference to why the event happening in Africa, Adesanya stated, “100%, even Dana White said, recently in an interview, he said ‘before my career is done I wanna hold an event in Africa.”

That’s… It’s already been talked about amongst us. Yeah, it’s gonna happen but just a lot of moving parts right now, a lot of red tape, cuz you know. Um, I love my people in Nigeria.”

“But you know, there’s sometimes people, people get too greedy, so yeah. But it will happen. It will happen. Definitely has to, and it’s just, it’s up to us to make it happen.

Adesanya believes that it is only a matter of time before it happens, but it is up to the people to do so. 

UFC Africa 

Africa is the second-largest continent in the world, with over 1.3 billion inhabitants. With South Africa in a developing state, the same cannot be said for all. Education and a sense of culture from the entertainment may be lacking, but one thing that they would enjoy for sure is fighting.

The UFC would be doing itself a favor by setting up a massive event in Africa. The PPV numbers and the in-house attendance numbers will blow the roof off the stadium. 

Dana White has expressed his idea of holding a UFC event in Africa sometime soon. Although unsure of when due to a plethora of factors, the President of the promotion is sure to hold an event there in the near future.

The Tale of ‘The Last Stylebender’ 

Israel Adesanya takes immense pride in being a champion of UFC representing Africa. As much as he loves money, pride for his country always comes first.

He also expressed his wish to tell his grandchildren about the legend of three African champions in the UFC, Kamaru Usman, Francis Ngannou, and himself. 

With greater heights to reach and an entire country on his back, Stylebender’s story will go down as a legend.
