The light heavyweight fighter Glover Teixeira talked about the UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya’s loss against Jan Blachowicz in a recent interview.

The 41-year-old Glover Teixeira will lock horns against the light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz for the gold strap at UFC 267. This intriguing title fight will headline the pay-per-view.

Ahead of one of the biggest fights of Teixeira’s career, he appeared in an interview with RT Sport MMA. He talked about his upcoming fight and discussed a few other important things. While talking about the title fight between Adesanya and Blachowicz, Teixeira weighed in on the middleweight champion for being too small.

Teixeira said, “You know he (Israel Adesanya) was too small, and Jan (Blachowicz) was too strong for him, you know. I was rooting for Jan at the time, of course, because Adesanya wins. Who knows what’s gonna happen. But like for sure he was, Jan showed up in that fight, you know, and he did a great and he pulled that in the last couple rounds.”

He added, “He’d take him down and did his jiu-jitsu there. It was very good. Adesanya, he is still a great fighter, you know. He got great skills, you know, that show a lot of skills to Jan Blachowicz, you know.

“The way he fought and then the way he come. He’s a different style of a guy you know. Definitely different than me as a stylistic but like a. I look at all the fights man I look you know. Look at most of the fights and I learned a lot from the fight.”

Will Glover Teixeira become the UFC Champion

The Brazilian light heavyweight fighter Glover Teixeira is one of the most prominent names in the division. He has an impressive professional fighting resume of 32-7 under his name. However, the veteran fighter is yet to lay his hands on the UFC gold strap.

Teixeira earned his first-ever UFC title shot when he was on a seven-fight undefeated streak in 2014. Unfortunately, he lost the battle against Jon Jones. Despite the loss, the Brazilian fighter bounced back into the win column. However, he had a few setbacks in his UFC career until 2018.

The 41-year-old turned the odds in his favor after 2019. He won back-to-back fights with his stunning performance inside the octagon and earned himself the #1 position on the light heavyweight roster.

Teixeira is now on a five-fight win streak and will take on Jan Blachowicz for the light heavyweight gold. This is the second title shot he’s received in his UFC career. Teixeira possesses amazing wrestling skills and has finished four of his previous five opponents.
