Conor McGregor is undoubtedly one of the biggest stars in the world of MMA. The Irishman has gone on to achieve a few indomitable feats inside the octagon. McGregor is a former two-weight division UFC Champion, a feat very few others have been able to achieve. He was also one of the best pay-per-view-selling fighters in the UFC. ‘Mystic Mac’s’ fierce war of words with ‘The Eagle’ Khabib Nurmagomedov prior to their bout, made UFC 229 the ‘most bought’ pay-per-view in the history of the UFC. However, McGregor had to go through an unruly 2021, since he lost two straight bouts with the noted UFC lightweight, Dustin Poirier. McGregor broke the lower part of his left shin bone completely. He was sidelined from fighting for an unprecedented period due to this gruesome injury.

But it’s been quite some time since then and a lot is being heard about his comeback. McGregor has also posted several updates regarding his training session eyeing a return in 2023. But his incredibly jacked physique had many of his fans calling him for a return to the Octagon as a Middleweight fighter. It may also be said that McGregor actually liked the idea given by his fans.

In his second deleted tweet, he wrote, “I’d be a big fridge at Middleweight. But like hot oven at the same time, ye know yourself, catch it on PPV. Don’t know tho. It be hard work. Those rounds against those middle/lhws, they were alternating fresh each round. I’ve put in psycho work doing this job over the years.”

There is no doubt that the fans are willing to see ‘The Irishman’ fighting as a middleweight. McGregor’s tweets, although deleted, give an indication that he has the plan of fighting as a middleweight at the back of his mind.
