Former UFC Lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov has been doing very well for himself after retiring from the sport. Nurmagomedov recently had the first event of his MMA promotion, Eagle FC in the USA this past Friday. 

Eagle FC 44 took place on January 28th, 2022, in Miami, Florida. The main event featured a heavyweight bout between Tyrone Spong and Sergei Kharitonov. UFC Hall of Famer Rashad Evans also made his return to MMA at the event. A few other fighters mentioned on the main card were Gabriel Checco, Ray Borg, Ramazan Kuramagomedov, Cody Gibson, and John Howard.

In an interview with MMA Junkie, Khabib Nurmagomedov weighed in on his thoughts after the success of EAGLE FC 44.

He said,It was a very nervous day, but right now I am happy. It was very good event… You know it was very stressful, little bit, last couple of days you know. Because this is my first show here in US. A lot of people follow and are watching what we’re going to do. How it’s going to be. Right now I feel good.”

Khabib Nurmagomedov on Dana White

The UFC President Dana White is the reason why the UFC has become what it is today. White is not only the UFC president, but he also looks over everything that happens in the promotion and is an active part of every event.

In his interview with MMA Junkie, ‘The Eagle‘ praised Dana White and said that “Dana was right” about running a promotion not being easy.

He said,” Nothing easy, honestly, he is right. It’s like Dana is right. I’m gonna have a meeting next month in Vegas with him, I’m gonna see him. You know, I’m gonna talk with him a lot about all this kind of stuff… He’s the best in the game and it’s a big honor for me to learn from him.”
