Elon Musk is under fire from die-hard MAGA loyalists at the moment for his views on H1B visas. Even as he deals with the storm this has kicked up, the X owner finds himself in another, much more weirder controversy. Fans think that the tech titan has an alternative account on the social media platform, named Adrian Dittmann, which he has been using to maintain his anonymity.

But Dittmann, who maintains he is not Musk, sounds eerily like the Tesla CEO, down to the same dry and deliberate intonation and the business mogul’s distinctive accent. Not to mention he has been very complimentary of the X owner. This is why many are convinced that Dittmann and Musk are the same person. And Joe Rogan has weighed in on the controversy with a unique take.

“Are you aware of the uh Elon Musk- Adrien Dittman controversy?” Rogan asked Theo Von on episode #2253 of the JRE podcast. Von told him that he had heard about the controversy, as Rogan wondered fondly about the freedom that a public figure would get after making fake social media accounts to have fun online.

“I think they call them sock puppet accounts okay. And it’s generally frowned upon to have a fake account,” Rogan hastily said for those wondering. “Like it seems like it would be a fun way to f**k around online. I don’t have one, but it seems like it would be a fun way to f**k around online. You could have like a fake account, where if you’re a public person, you know, like Elon Musk, and you want to say some wild s**t, but you don’t want to take responsibility for it, you just want to f***ing post like everybody else like an anonymous person.”

The way Rogan talked about the subject makes it seem like having a burner account to troll people online would be something he wants to do. The UFC commentator, after all, is a comedian at heart and likes to talk about controversial topics. However, because of the size of his platform and the backlash he receives for his hot takes, he may not feel completely free to speak his mind completely.

Being on an anonymous account, however, would completely solve that problem as the podcast host pointed out. But the UFC commentator wondered what the ethical implications of doing so would be.

Joe Rogan backs Elon Musk in fake account controversy as tech titan embraces meme

Joe Rogan felt that Elon Musk creating the Dittmann account for anonymity was “a smart thing to do,” but wondered if “that is unethical?” In fact, Rogan pointed to one of the most well-known conservative accounts on X, ‘Cat Turd’, and pointed out how much freedom Mr. Turd had to say controversial things.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Elon Musk's alleged fake account a genius move for freedom or a step too far?

Have an interesting take?

“When one person can call themselves you know, ‘Cat Turd, you know, that’s a legit name for a dude. I don’t know anything about that cat. But that guy can just talk about anything he wants to talk about,” Rogan told Von in the same JRE segment.

On the other hand, Rogan pointed out that if “Elon Musk does it, well he has the responsibility of his public image. But maybe he doesn’t want that,” Rogan wondered. There has been a recent report by a journalist on X claiming that Dittmann is indeed a real person. On top of that, he is reportedly a German national who lives in Fiji, which could have closed the chapter on this topic.

However, Musk came out after this report and declared “I am Adrian Dittmann” in a post meant to troll fans. What do you think about Rogan’s take on the whole Elon Musk- Adrian Dittman controversy?
