However, Aldana’s hunger could be a game-changer, bringing a refreshing dynamic to the octagon against Nunes, according to Sonnen.
“It was helpful to hear from Dana that Aldana is hungry. That’s a big deal guys. How many people have we seen fight Amanda Nunes? Not very many. Night after night after night, it has been ‘okay I gotta sign this, let me get in there, let me get out in one piece’. There are not ‘my skills versus your skills until one of us is left’. There’s not! It’s very interesting if Aldana isn’t scared.”
He termed Aldana’s hunger as a “big deal”, as it makes the UFC 289 much more exciting and thrilling to watch for the fans.
Sonnen praises Aldana’s skills
Further, ‘The American Gangster’ praised Aldana’s boxing skills, acknowledging her impressive technique. Moreover, he also highlighted an article that emphasized her reach, length, and grappling abilities. The former UFC title challenger acknowledged that Aldana’s boxing prowess could pose a significant threat to Nunes’ dominance.
“One thing that I’ve been impressed with Aldana is for her boxing. And there was an article and the author of the article made a big point about the reach the length and the grappling of Aldana. I don’t disagree. I’m more impressed with her boxing.”
