Dana White strongly believed in his idea of launching Power Slap and promoting it correspondingly to the UFC. However, it seems that the concept not only fell short of the mark but also drew the worst criticism from both the UFC community and the fans. Power Slap is officially out now for the audience and isn’t performing well. In fact, this slap-driven competition is ridiculed online and, for the most part, serves no purpose other than to amuse the audience based on their reactions online. And given that it has become a mainstream sport and is being brought up to be on par with the UFC has baffled Luke Rockhold to the core. The former UFC champion discussed Power Slap and gave an upfront opinion of this ‘dumb’ sport when speaking with Ariel Helwani.

Further in the conversation, the Californian said, “To put that on the same stage as us and like, just promote it on the same stage, it’s f*cking dumb. I am tired of seeing that. Tired of being a part of it, really.” He further added, “If you put a big f*cking man (who) throws hands in front of him with a clean shot, anyone’s gonna go to sleep. Where’s the technique? Where’s the point of it? The world is just turning into sh*t.”

Ariel Helwani, too, joined in the conversation and criticized the sport as well as NSAC for sanctioning it in the first place.
Having said that, Luke Rockhold is now a free agent and moving away from the UFC for greater opportunities. And he is eyeing Jake Paul in that pursuit.

Apart from the fact that the Power Slap is getting on his nerves, Rockhold has some real problems with YouTubers coming into the spotlight in the sports domain. The 38-year-old recently spoke with TMZ and called out Jake Paul with a rather confident disclaimer.
Luke Rockhold sent out a message to ‘The Problem Child’ saying, “Stop trying to fight little dudes. F***ing [155] pounders. You’re a middleweight. If you want to fight a middleweight, I got hands. We can do anything we want. I really don’t care. I’d beat that guy in my sleep.”
