UFC 269 concluded with a historic co-main event that ended with a surprise. Arguably the greatest female MMA fighter and former 2-weight world champion Amanda Nunes dropped her bantamweight title to Julianna Pena. This result was a complete shock and no one truly expected the fight to go this way. UFC commentator and podcast host, Joe Rogan, found it hard to believe that Amanda’s conditioning failed her in the second round.

Amanda’s invincible run as a bantamweight world champion has finally come to a close. She now holds a title in a single weight class and she still stands a chance to regain her belt.

Joe Rogan seems puzzled about the massive upset

We know Amanda for being the greatest female fighter to step foot inside the octagon. Her impressive resume and unbeaten streak since 2014 finally came to a close this past week. In his podcast, Joe talked about the upset loss and couldn’t believe how it came to be. Amanda not only exceptional with her cardio routine but also for being the most complete female MMA fighter in the sport’s history.

Despite all her accolades and elite striking ability. The Lioness couldn’t match the performance that was expected out of her, as she engaged in a battle of haymakers with Julianna. Everything led to her becoming tired in the second round and caused her to lose the fight and not to forget, Julianna’s precise striking also contributed to her win.

” It was caused by Julianna. Julianna made her quit, she didn’t just quit on her own, you gotta give Julianna all the credit.” he continued,” You know that is what Julianna said leading up to the fight. Julianna said I am gonna bring her back to what it was like when she was younger and she would quit. There were fights where she got exhausted and lost her way, and then she became the greatest of all time. It’s wild to see the difference.”
