Chatri Sityodtang praises Rodtang Jitmuangnon

The CEO of ONE Championship, Chatri Sityodtong, was talking in an interview with UFC legend Michael Bisping. The two had conversations about the major events taking place in the MMA world. When Sonnen asked about ‘The Iron Man’, the ONE Championship CEO said, You know De La Hoya and Floyd are obviously boxers and it’s a very restricted rule set. Obviously, if it was pure striking, you know anything goes, obviously, Rodtang would annihilate both of them because he has elbows, he has knees, he has kicks, he has head kicks, his leg kicks everything but he is an elite elite world-class world championship Striker.”

Sityodtong compares Rodtang with Floyd Mayweather and Oscar De La Hoya. They are both the greatest boxers in the world. However, Sityodtong feels that when it comes to pure striking, Rodtang will be able to outdo both the legends. Nevertheless, does the comparison really hold value or is it warranted with the reputation of Mayweather and Rodtang in their respective sports?

Jitmuangnon’s comparison with Mayweather

Floyd Mayweather is a boxing legend who retired from the sport as an undefeated fighter with a record of 50-0. Throughout his boxing career, he earned fifteen major world championships, from super featherweight to light middleweight. On the other hand, the Thai fighter holds a record of 270 wins, 42 losses, and 10 draws. While ‘The Iron Man’ was having a conversation with ONE Championship in 2019, he mentioned that he wants to fight continuously as he is used to fighting in competitions one after the other.

"Like many, my journey into the beautiful game began by watching the mesmerizing Lionel Messi, as his impeccable vision on the pitch and role as a playmaker, meticulously calculating the path to goal always amazed me. This fascination with the finer details of soccer strategy naturally extended to my interest in content strategy. However, my zeal for being a soccer content analyst is not only because of Messi's magic, as I am a keen follower of the Becks as well. While in David Beckham, it was a special affinity for his mastery of crosses, passes, and set pieces, in Victoria Beckham, the fashion queen, I find inspiration in how she masterfully navigated the world of aesthetics and brand identity. This unique blend of admiration for both the tactical intricacies of soccer and the world of fashion and entertainment helps me to cover the game from angles that seamlessly balance sport and entertainment. Before joining EssentiallySports, I worked as a content analyst as well. A Master's degree in English and Comparative Literature from a premiere institute has helped me hone my writing skills and given me a unique perspective on the world of sports. Interestingly, besides soccer, I also extensively covered UFC, especially the Joe Rogan podcast. In my free time, I enjoy reading and keeping up with the latest developments in the world of sports.
