Joe Rogan has taken a stand against TikTok quite a few times. He has addressed the concerns regarding the rising addiction to the application among the young ones. Furthermore, he was also impressed with India banning TikTok. Nevertheless, the grip that the application has on the youth was indeed unsettling.
In a recent episode of the JRE, Rogan sat together with Ari Shaffir, Mark Normand, and Shane Gillis. The four men talked about the filters in social media applications. Rogan did not support the trend which allowed the youth to put on filters in their selfies. He claimed that he had seen people compare what they saw in the mirror with the pictures on social media. The UFC color commentator seemed disappointed with the youth using the filters and hiding their true face.

Joe Rogan and his daughter take a stand against TikTok filters
In episode #1991 of JRE, Rogan explained how crazy the filters on social media were. He recollected that the previous day, his daughter complained about the filters on TikTok. The podcaster was not in support of the fact that the filters hide one’s true face. Additionally, he claimed that people then begin to compare the way they look in the mirror with how they look in the photographs.
Rogan said, “Those filters like TikTok, my daughter was complaining about yesterday. They don’t show your real face. They put a filter on, automatically. When you do stuff on TikTok, it changes the way your face looks, it smoothes out your skin, makes you look prettier. I saw everybody comparing what they see in the mirror to what they see on Instagram.”
Then Shaffir seemed to compare the filters with make-up and Rogan claimed that the former was worse. He believed that the filters were analogous to masks that people used to hide their faces with. Furthermore, he said that people who used those filters were, in fact, crazy since everyone knew they used a filter.
