UFC Heavyweight superstar Francis Ngannou has been patiently waiting for his title opportunity. While the Cameroonian born fighter waits for Stipe Miocic, he has been busy outside the octagon. ‘The Predator’ recently signed an association with NOCCO USA.

NOCCO is a no-carb, branched-chain amino acids (BCAA) beverage company. They have now signed the UFC fighter as one of the faces of the company among a roster of global brand ambassadors.

Morning Kombat’s Brian Campbell asked Francis Ngannou about the company and how this partnership came around.

Francis Ngannou is a global brand ambassador

The fighter said, “My manager met with guys from Nocco to talk about a potential partnership. As my manager knows me, he told them that he would have to figure out if it’s something that I’m interested in. I like to be partnered with stuff that I believe in. I like to be an ambassador for something that I can see myself in, I can attach that to my brand and proudly say, ‘Ok…that I believe in this’.”

Now signing with the brand, ‘The Predator’ seems happy with his decision. He added, “It was a funny process and at the end of the day, I was very impressed with what they made. It’s wasn’t like a regular energy drink, I found it very interesting, that it’s healthy and sugar-free, yeah I love their stuff.”

The UFC heavyweight division has a weight limit of 265 pounds. Ngannou stressed that he too has to monitor his weight. “Even as a heavyweight I have to watch my weight. I always do, but now more than ever since I have to cut a few pounds before the fight. I try to check everything first, even if it’s a drink.”

Ngannou reveals what drink he would be

To add good humor to the conversation, Campbell asked Ngannou if NOCCO had any custom flavor in mind for him. Ngannou said, “What flavor would I be? They already have a tropical flavor, but I think it would have to be something with passion fruit.”

As per Ngannou’s plans with the company for 2021, he said, “I just need to grow with the brand, that’s the goal of our association… I want to let people know that they can be a healthy energy drink.”
