“It’s Not the Best Option”- Former UFC Fighter Paige VanZant Gives a Brutally Honest Admission About the Promotion

Former UFC fighter Paige VanZant spoke about the promotion in her recent Instagram story. The combat sports athlete recently did a question-and-answer session on her stories. When an Instagram user asked her whether she regretted being in the UFC, VanZant gave an honest reply.

VanZant said, “No, absolutely not! Being in the UFC is one of my very very biggest accomplishments and I know how much they helped to build me. But, thinking about my future, financially, the UFC, it’s not the best option.”

The 12-8-0 professional MMA record holder left the UFC after her loss against Amanda Ribas. She then received a lucrative offer from BKFC and decided to join it. She also signed a deal with All Elite Wrestling to start her wrestling career as well.

Thus, it looks like post her UFC stint she has found success in other areas of combat sports.

As per an article published by ‘MMA Fighting‘, VanZant is financially happy. According to her, she could retire tomorrow and be financially free. Thus, she has fulfilled one of her biggest dreams. She also stated that leaving the UFC opened several other doors for her because she wouldn’t be able to join other promotions while under contract with the UFC.

While she showed extreme gratitude for the promotion, she feels leaving it was a good move for her.

From what the fighter said on her Instagram story, it is clear that she does not regret fighting for the biggest MMA promotion. If anything, she agrees that they helped her establish her name. While she had been competing in MMA since 2012, her first UFC fight was in 2014. During her fourth fight with the promotion, she lost to Rose Namajunas.

VanZant has also stated that she will not fight for the UFC in the future as well because of pay issues. However, she has a flourishing combat career. The athlete has begun with her wrestling training to prepare for having a spectacular AEW career later this year. She also hopes to return to the bare-knuckle ring soon.
