Francis Ngannou emerged victorious in one of the toughest and most controversial fights of his MMA career. The Cameroonian defeated his former sparring partner, Ciryl Gane, at UFC 270 in a title unification bout. However, some of his battles began a lot earlier than January 22nd.

Leading up to the bout, ‘The Predator’ found himself in many controversies that dominated the narrative. However, what shocked netizens most was the behavior of some journalists towards him during the UFC 270 press conference.

Talking about the same, premier MMA journalist and host of The MMA Hour, Ariel Helwani, questioned his peers and, by an extension, the UFC itself.

“I mean that press conference on Thursday was a joke. All these press conferences are jokes. I hate to call them even press conferences, just call them conferences at this point. The fact that they allow these media members to go up there to try to make it on their 32nd Instagram reel and battle and argue and disrespect the freaking warriors that are sitting up there is an incredible embarrassment,” Helwani stated.

“It is truly an embarrassment to the sport and to the company. Certainly, it’s embarrassing for the fighters to be subjected to that. The fact that they continue to allow this to happen,” Helwani continued.

As ‘The Predator’ had supposedly claimed that UFC heavyweight legend Stipe Miocic was his ‘Toughest Fight’, a journalist asked him if he was belittling Ciryl Gane by that comparison. However, Ngannou didn’t take this rephrasing of his comments well and warned the journalists to be ‘accurate’ with their questions.
