“I’ve Loved Every F**king Second of It”- Carlos Condit Sums Up His 20 Year MMA Career

Former interim UFC welterweight champion, Carlos Condit, had announced his retirement from the sport of MMA. A true veteran and fan favorite of the sport, Condit had been part of some of the most memorable fights in the history of the UFC. So, needless to mention, Condit’s decision may have saddened many fans.

Condit last fought Max Griffin at UFC 264 and lost a decision. He was on a 2-fight winning streak prior to that, having picked up wins against the likes of Court McGee and Matt Brown. However, the former interim champion believed that the time had come to put curtains on his illustrious career.

Recently, in a chat with Ariel Helwani at The MMA Hour show, Condit reflected upon his decision to call it a day and looked back at the most notable moments of his career.

That’s really tough. I’ve loved every f**king second of it. The ups, the downs, all of it. If I had to pick a specific one, these last two fights that I won when we were out in Abu Dhabi and really just living in this surreal atmosphere,” said Condit. (h/t MMAFighting.com)

“My coaches are all my really good friends and we had the opportunity to go to this crazy nice place and fight. That was a lot of fun. But I have 19, almost 20 years worth of memories so it would be really hard to pinpoint,” he added.

What legacy does Carlos Condit leave behind in the UFC?

Condit has been part of some of the most memorable wars inside the Octagon. His scraps against the likes of Robbie Lawler, Nick Diaz, Rory MacDonald, and more are fondly remembered by the fans. He has also taken on former champions like Georges St-Pierre, Tyron Woodley.

He is a fighter that fans have always loved to watch in action. However, at 37-years of age, it is understandable why opted to call it quits. Nevertheless, fans will always have fond memories of ‘The Natural Born Killer’ who never filed to justify his moniker.
