Colby Covington has given crazy responses in his past UFC press conferences. However, the one during the UFC 272 media day may have been the craziest of the lot. Though many would expect him to make headlines for his comments against his opponent at UFC 272, Jorge Masvidal, ‘Gamebred’ wasn’t the only one Covington targeted.

‘Chaos’ refused to answer to a prominent media member unless a weird demand was met. When Covington was doing the official media chat for UFC 272, John Morgan, who traditionally asks the first question, quizzed Covington if such a big event affects him mentally.

Covington responded, “I’m a man of my words, John, 10 push-ups if you want an answer from me.”

“It’s tough man. I’ve only got one lung. So it’s a challenge for me,” said John Morgan.
Covington responded, “You gotta get it down and at least try.”

Morgan followed with another question, but Covington remained firm about his demand. ‘Chaos‘ said, “You think I’m joking or what? I’m serious, flabby b*tt. You gotta get and give me ten push-ups.”
Morgan, being a professional, appreciated Covington for his time and didn’t follow up any further.

Morgan is a very respected MMA journalist. He was the winner of the inaugural MMA journalist of the year award in the year 2009 at the World MMA Awards.
Colby Covington asked John Morgan for 10 push-ups ahead of UFC 268
This all started back at the UFC 268 press conference, where Covington addressed Morgan for his negative comments. Covington told Morgan that he didn’t appreciate him, for saying ‘Chaos’ didn’t deserve a title shot against Kamaru Usman. He ordered Morgan to do 10 push-ups to receive an answer.

Later, on the UFC 268 presser-reaction show, John Morgan and Mike Bohn reacted to the whole incident. By the looks of it, it didn’t seem Morgan knew what was coming for him in the future. Morgan and Bohn mentioned Covington’s dig at Morgan in a light manner.

People didn’t realize at the time that Covington would follow suit in upcoming media events and make it a thing. However, the top-ranked welterweight did just that and it may be a factor during tonight’s UFC 272 press conference as well.
