Hollywood stars Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan are known for their profound mixed martial arts display in their movies. The Hongkong-based star, Chan, who considers ‘Little Phoenix’ as his idol, picked who would win a martial arts contest in a hypothetical bout.

Martial Arts has a very rich history. Besides, it has multiple categories, from striking forms to the grappling and submission arts. Though it was initially not popular with the general audience, one man that contributed significantly to raising awareness among people in the United States and around the world about martial arts was – Bruce Lee.

Jackie Chan followed in the footsteps of ‘Little Dragon’. Thus, these two played a part in showing the art of fighting to people in a way not done before through their movies. Since the two are pioneers in martial arts, their fans often wonder who would edge the other if they fought?

In a TMZ interview, a reporter asked Jackie Chan, “Jackie, in your prime versus Bruce Lee – Who would win?”

The humble star responded with no hesitation, “Bruce Lee.”

The quick reply shocked the reporter, and they asked, “Really?”

The Drunken Master star confirmed and said, “Yes.”

Yet, the reporter asked again, “No questions?”

But the author of Never Grow Up stayed at his original idea and said, “No questions.”

These two shared the screen when Bruce Lee was a renowned star and Jackie Chan was working as a stuntman in movies such as the 1973 movie – Enter The Dragon.

Dana White called Bruce Lee, the father of mixed martial arts

UFC President Dana White is a hard guy to impress. In 2020, the longtime UFC promoter labeled Bruce Lee as the ‘father of mixed martial arts’ for his contributions to growing martial arts in the 70s.

Talking about Bruce Lee’s popularity in the current era, White said, “It’s 2020, the guy died in early 70s. Every kid on the planet still knows who Bruce Lee is.”

White believed the UFC took the momentum of Bruce Lee’s work in the 70s, which elevated the sport of martial arts.

“He was part of the evolution and he was the father of mixed martial arts,” Dana White hailed Bruce Lee.
