Jamahal Hill reached the highest point of his career yet, after winning the light heavyweight belt against Glover Teixeira. The two had a terrific one-on-one fight at UFC 283, which led to a decision in favor of Hill after round five. Soon after his glorious title victory, ‘Sweet Dreams’ was called out by the current UFC middleweight champion, Alex Pereira. However, before Pereira called out the American fighter, the UFC community believed that the 31-year-old would fight Jiri Prochazka next. Since Prochazka was suffering from a severe shoulder injury, the Brazilian called out Hill to fight in the meantime.

He signed the contract for the rematch between him and Israel Adesanya. After breaking the silence, Hill now called out the Brazilian fighter for backing out from the fight.

Jamahal Hill expresses his disappointment in Alex Pereira’s actions

In a YouTube video uploaded by Real Eyes Recognize, Hill was seen talking about ‘Poatan’ backing out; he said: He [Alex Pereira] was responding to a video that I made like some months ago. After the Izzy fight and I was basically like, I knock him out. I seen him in person. He has an offering. I feel like I knock him out and I still feel the exact same way. Stay in the hot sand ten toes down on that.”

He added in the further conversation, “Don’t know him [Alex Pereira] hopping on there making a comment because you made this comment and then you went on to sign a contract to fight somebody else, you know what I’m saying. So that was some hot air f*cking sh*t.”

At the moment, the bout between Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira is confirmed for UFC 287. The match will be held in Miami-Dade Arena, Florida on 8th April. Keeping that in mind, Hill added that if Pereira wants to fight him after his fight against ‘The Last Stylebender’, he is okay with that, too.

"Like many, my journey into the beautiful game began by watching the mesmerizing Lionel Messi, as his impeccable vision on the pitch and role as a playmaker, meticulously calculating the path to goal always amazed me. This fascination with the finer details of soccer strategy naturally extended to my interest in content strategy. However, my zeal for being a soccer content analyst is not only because of Messi's magic, as I am a keen follower of the Becks as well. While in David Beckham, it was a special affinity for his mastery of crosses, passes, and set pieces, in Victoria Beckham, the fashion queen, I find inspiration in how she masterfully navigated the world of aesthetics and brand identity. This unique blend of admiration for both the tactical intricacies of soccer and the world of fashion and entertainment helps me to cover the game from angles that seamlessly balance sport and entertainment. Before joining EssentiallySports, I worked as a content analyst as well. A Master's degree in English and Comparative Literature from a premiere institute has helped me hone my writing skills and given me a unique perspective on the world of sports. Interestingly, besides soccer, I also extensively covered UFC, especially the Joe Rogan podcast. In my free time, I enjoy reading and keeping up with the latest developments in the world of sports.
