Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson was once the scariest fighter in the world. So afraid was Jon Jones of being knocked out by ‘Rampage’ in their UFC 135 fight, that ‘Bones’ began the fight on his haunches,  crawling towards the American. Jones also refused to exchange with him until he grabbed a hold of Jackson.

However, as the dire situation in Japan unfolds, ‘Rampage’, currently in the Southeast Asian nation, is very scared for his safety. In a tweet yesterday, Jackson shared his first-hand experience of the strong earthquake.

Japan was hit with a powerful, magnitude 7.6 earthquake on Monday. The Japanese Meteorological Agency has issued a Tsunami warning in many parts of Japan and 100,000 residents have been asked to evacuate further inland for their safety.

Quinton Jackson, who is in Japan, shared his own harrowing experience of being caught up in the earthquake. The former UFC star told fans on X that he was on the 28th floor of a building that had been shaking for two minutes and was not stopping, which scared him a lot.

‘Rampage’ recounts crying after Dan Henderson knocked out Bisping

Rampage admitted in a recent episode of Jaxxon Podcast with former UFC light heavyweight Dan Henderson that the latter was why he cried after a fight once. After Henderson knocked out Jackson’s friend Michael Bisping at UFC 100 in 2009, ‘Rampage’ went and cried in the locker room. He told Henderson he took Bisping, who was also his stablemate’s loss as a personal failing, and felt he did not do enough to prepare him for the fight.

“I felt like, at the time, maybe I didn’t help him good enough in training or something. It was something like that, and I just felt bad for him. I remember crying in the locker room like, ‘What the f*ck is wrong with me? Why am I crying?’ I never cry. It’s weird,” Rampage said. However, Bisping did eventually exact revenge for this loss when he defeated Henderson via unanimous decision at their UFC 205 clash seven years later.

Hi, I am Kanishk and I am a UFC Writer at EssentiallySports. I love telling the stories of these magnificent fighters and this wildly unpredictable sport that is so frustrating and yet so joyous at the same time. I never really used to watch MMA, thinking it too crude or brutal a sport to deserve respect.
