Jean Silva finds solace in his better half
On a recent post on Instagram, Silva poured out his feelings in a heartfelt message to his long-time partner, Carolina de Castro. ‘Lord’ began by stating, “With God’s blessing, we walk side by side, because only the two of us know the strength that exists when we walk together. You are my strength, my calm in the midst of chaos, the hand that never lets go of mine. Thank you, my beautiful, for believing in me when the world doubted, for not giving up when everything seemed too heavy.”
It was the voice of a man leaning on the one person who’s been there from the very beginning. But Jean Silva didn’t shy away from the pain of the defeat. He admitted, “The truth is that it hurts, hurts a lot inside. It’s a pain that you can’t explain, that squeezes the chest, that often takes away my sleep and makes me wonder if I can handle it. But it’s at this hour that I remember you.”

Their story stretches back to the dark days when he nearly lost himself to grief after his brother’s death. She’s trained with him, prayed with him, and stood beside him when he had nothing. Now, even in defeat, she remains his compass.

Silva vows to “improve” alongside Fighting Nerds teammates as he opens up on UFC Noche loss
The Brazilian featherweight suffered the first knockout defeat of his career on UFC Noche. In just the second round, Diego Lopes clipped him with a spinning back elbow that left him dazed. Lopes swarmed with punches until referee Mike Beltran waved it off. Silva, still fueled by adrenaline, protested the stoppage and even threw a frustrated swing at Lopes after the bout.
However, with time, his emotions have seemingly cooled off. In a statement released on Instagram, Silva took responsibility for the loss as he stated, “Unfortunately, yesterday the emotion got the better of me. I was seeing well in the second round, but I ended up rushing in with everything just wanting to throw down. I ended up fighting alone, I wasn’t connected with my team, so the responsibility is all mine for this loss.”
It was an uncharacteristic end for Silva, who entered the fight with a 5-0 UFC record. Against Lopes, he showed flashes of that danger in Round 2, landing clean punches after surviving a rough opening frame. But one miscalculation turned the fight on its head. The setback doesn’t just affect Silva. His teammates at The Fighting Nerds, Caio Borralho and Mauricio Ruffy, also suffered losses last week in Paris. The trio’s struggles have prompted the MMA sphere to question whether the team’s momentum has stalled.

Silva didn’t ignore the criticism as he further stated, “So the three of us must be making similar mistakes. So for sure, me, Caio, and Ruffy will have a meeting. We’ll figure this out and improve. Whether people like it or not, I’m sorry, but we’ll be back.”
As such, Jean Silva’s UFC Noche loss may have ended his streak, but it didn’t break his spirit. In the cage, he admitted fault, vowing to learn alongside his Fighting Nerds teammates. Outside it, he leaned on the unwavering support of his wife, turning heartbreak into a moment of gratitude.
