The UFC has slated an exciting strawweight bout between former title contender Jessica Penne and Luana Pinheiro for the UFC Fight Night event on April 30th.
Their bout was originally scheduled for November 2021 at UFC Fight Night 198: Vieira vs. Tate. However, Penne pulled out of the fight, only to be replaced by Sam Hughes. Pinheiro defeated Hughes via a unanimous decision.

CANAL DO MARINHO first reported the news, which was later confirmed by WMMA Rankings. The location and venue for the UFC Fight Night event are yet to be announced.
Pinheiro (10-1) a Dana White’s Contender Series participant will make her third octagon appearance against Penne. The Brazilian has been undefeated in the UFC. She entered the promotion after defeating Stephanie Frausto via a first-round knockout.

Her second win came against Randa Markos after the latter was disqualified for an illegal kick. Her latest win was against Sam Hughes in November. At the time of writing, she is #15 in the 115-pounds weight class.
Penne (14-5), returned to the UFC after a year haul. The 39-year-old former Invicta FC atomweight champion and UFC strawweight title contender defeated Lupita Godinez via a split decision upon her return. Then she went on to submit former title challenger Karolina Kowalkiewicz via an armbar in the first round of their bout at UFC 265.

The UFC is yet to confirm the main event for the 30th April fight card. However, the promotion has approved a few fights on the card. Such as a lightweight bout between UFC veterans ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone and Joe Lauzon.

Fans speculate that the lightweight bout between Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone and Joe Lauzon will headline the event. However, nothing has been made official yet.
