Jiri Prochazka Ready to Snub Glover Teixeira Rematch for a Former Champion Branded a ‘Bigger Challenge’

205-pound UFC champion Jiri Prochazka has had a meteoric rise in the promotion. While the fighter won a war against Glover Teixeira to claim the title at UFC 275, he did not rate the Brazilian as his toughest opponent. Instead, ‘Denisa’ rated a former UFC light heavyweight champion to be his toughest challenge in the 205-pound division.

In an interview with The Schmo, Prochazka said, “I have to make a decision about next fight and I’m thinking about, to give offer to, for Glover for a rematch, or to challenge to Jan.”

Because Jan is for me bigger challenge. But, I think Glover, he made a great performance in that fight and I have to say to him, huge respect for that. So, we will see.”

From his statement, it is evident Prochazka rates Blachowicz and Texeira highly and looks forward to fighting them. The Pole and the Brazilian have also shown interest in the same.

Jiri Prochazka put up a memorable performance against Glover Teixeira to win the UFC light heavyweight crown at UFC 275. However, the newly crowned champion had no room for rest, as he was immediately called out by his rivals in the division.

‘Polish Power’ tweeted, “Jiri, let’s do this! The Battle for Europe. The biggest fight in the Continent’s history. @jiri_bjp @ufc @UFCEurope #UFC275.” However, the call-outs did not end here.

Having indulged in a war once, Glover Teixeira seemed interested in an immediate rematch. In his tweet after their UFC 275 fight, Teixeira tweeted, “Rematch?? @jiri_bjp @danawhite @ufc

Even though Prochazka has just become champion, the fighter has already been put under the spotlight with these call-outs. While there might still be time for his return, Prochazka will have to train even harder to defend his spot at the top of the mountain. Fans of ‘Denisa’ will wait with anticipation for his return to the octagon.
