Jiri Prochazka is entering one of the most intense phases of his life, with two significant moments arriving almost back-to-back. The former champion will face Carlos Ulberg at UFC 327 on April 11 for the vacant light heavyweight title, while his partner Kamila Kordulikova is expected to give birth to their first child just days later.

Despite the emotional weight of the situation, ‘Denisa’ made his stance clear when asked about balancing both responsibilities. When Anthony Calatayud from LeBatardShow asked Jiri Prochazka to forget the upcoming fight with Carlos Ulberg as the birth of his child will surely occupy 100% of his attention, Jiri Prochazka dropped a cold response.

“I understand that,” Prochazka responded. “But right now, no, there is no other things than the mission next week.

“I believe that my girlfriend will handle this thing, and everything will be all right after the fight, but I have my mission, and she have her mission.”

That response sums up his mindset heading into the fight. While becoming a father is unquestionably a life-changing experience, ‘Denisa’ has chosen to stay completely focused on getting his hands on the title. It’s not about ignoring what’s coming; it’s about handling one responsibility at a time.

At the same time, the situation has provided a new source of motivation. Jiri Prochazka has spoken about feeling a different kind of energy during this phase of his life, something deeper than he has ever felt before. Instead of distracting him, it appears to be fueling his preparation.

“Maybe I’m not realizing it yet, but I feel the power,” he added. “Really feel something that’s in the beyond, behind the feelings, behind the emotions. There is something that is stronger than I ever, ever, ever met before.

“It’s really something that was here, and every time we have a call with my girlfriend every day, we are doing, like, special breathing stuff together to keep ourselves in connection, so every time I see her belly, like, I can’t explain. I can’t explain right now, but yeah.”

With momentum on his side and a title shot in front of him, ‘The Czech Samurai’ enters UFC 327 with both pressure and purpose. And once the fight is done, an even bigger moment awaits him outside the cage. But what about his partner? What is her opinion on Jiri Prochazka choosing the fight game over childbirth?

Jiri Prochazka’s longtime partner, Kamila Kordulikova, finds herself in a tough spot

As Jiri Prochazka locks himself into fight mode, the reality on the other side is far less controlled. His partner, Kamila Kordulikova, is preparing for childbirth without him physically present, navigating uncertainty throughout the most sensitive stage of pregnancy.

With the due date so close to fight night, there’s no guarantee that everything will align perfectly—and she’s well aware of that.

“What awaits me? I guess probably giving birth,” Kordulikova said on Jiri Prochazka’s YouTube channel. “And on top of that is uncertainty because Jiri is set to fly away for the last three weeks of the pregnancy.

“So it’s a bit mentally demanding, because you have to come to terms with the fact that I don’t know when [the baby] will come, right? I was told by my midwife that you don’t know the day or the hour, so you can’t really predict it.”

There’s no sense of resentment—only understanding. Kamila Kordulikova noted how much Jiri Prochazka has changed since knowing he would become a father, particularly in his approach to responsibility and relationships.

“Definitely completely, like it seems to me 100%, especially all those relationship things,” she added. “Like, his approach to a lot of things has rapidly changed with regard to the fact that such a big responsibility is coming, so you need to direct some energy there. So it definitely changed him a lot.”

Still, she hopes one thing remains unchanged: the version of him that enters the cage—relentless, aggressive, and completely committed to the mission he refuses to compromise.
