Joanna Jedrzejczyk is one of the top competitors in the UFC’s strawweight category right now. She is the former UFC Women’s strawweight Champion. Jedrzejczyk is currently ranked second in the UFC women’s strawweight rankings. She’s ranked sixth in the women’s pound-for-pound rankings as of October 2021. She has a professional record of 16 wins and 4 losses in her MMA career.

Joanna was a part of one of the most entertaining fights of 2020 against Chinese fighter Zhang Weili at UFC 248. She lost the UFC strawweight title to her via an extremely close split decision and hasn’t stepped into the octagon ever since.

Her vicious trash talk has also become part of her game over the years. She verbally demolishes her opponents before the battle, attempting to gain psychological control. However, this time around, fellow Strawweight contender Marina Rodriguez took some shots at Joanna.

“She’s got to get moving,” said Rodriguez about the Polish fighter. Marina wants to move upper ranks after her recent win over Mackenzie Dern.

“Let’s be honest, she shouldn’t even be ranked anymore at this point.” She’s been out of action for so long and if she doesn’t want to fight me, I guess I don’t want to fight her, too.The problem is she’s holding a very important spot in the rankings and there’s so many girls there fighting twice a year, three times a year, trying to get to that and that spot is locked.“- Marina Rodriguez on the former Strawweight champion.

According to a report last year, travel constraints have hindered the former champion from easily reaching her team and instructors at American Top Team in Florida, keeping her at home in Poland for most of the epidemic.

“I was planning to get back to the states in the middle of this year, October, the end of this year, but probably it’s going to be January. I’m training. I’m training every single day. I train every day. I do lots of cardio, lots of jiu-jitsu, lots of boxing. So I keep on rolling every single day and hustling every day.” said Joanna last year.
