Joaquin Buckley recently got through a grueling battle at UFC Fight Night 201. The now 14-4 fighter fought on the opening bout of the event. He took on Abdul Razak Alhassan in what many predicted was going to be an all-out war. However, instead of getting a knockout finish, what fans got was a three-round battle.

Before the fight, Buckley made a surprise announcement. In a video posted on his Instagram, ‘New Mansa’ declared that D.U.S.T self-defense star, Commander Dale Brown, would be in his corner. This left everyone in the MMA community bemused. However, after the win over Alhassan, he revealed the reason for having him in his corner.

He said, “Yes sir, I know exactly what to expect. When I realized the UFC wasn’t promoting like it should. They probably promoted it well at the end, but I made sure all the eyes, you see, I got my man right here. Come here, Dale, come here. In here to promote this fight.”

“I probably never had as many people watching this fight. You got DJ Khaled out there, Snoop Dogg, all the celebrities watching both kings in here. Both knockout artists go to f**k the world and show that we can go three rounds.”

Brown is a viral star, and many huge names have imitated what he does in his videos. Having him in his corner definitely helped Buckley attract more attention for his fight.

One of the most exciting fights on the UFC Fight Night 201 card was the one between Buckley and Alhassan. When the fight was announced, everyone expected a highlight-reel finish, as they came into the fight with a combined 21 T/KO finishes. However, the bout turned out to be completely different.

They went toe-to-toe for all three rounds and landed some big shots on each other. It was a constant back-and-forth battle between them, and they also took the fight to the mat. After three grueling rounds, both men were visibly exhausted and Buckley got the W.

They put on a show for the fans and with more eyeballs on his fight, a win like this will do wonders for Buckley.
