The knockout win of Israel Adesanya over Alex Pereira was one of the most memorable finishes in UFC history. Adesanya became the first middleweight fighter to capture the division’s top prize twice. There were many people who shared their reactions to the 4-punch combo knockout. Even the UFC’s commentary team had a standout reaction to the spectacular finish.

Isreal Adesanya overcame the biggest challenge of his MMA career after defeating the Brazilian ace. His fans rejoiced at the win and Izzy even received a hero’s welcome back home in New Zealand. It is arguably the biggest win of his career so far.

UFC recently posted a video on their Instagram handle showing the UFC 287 commentary team’s reaction to ‘The Last Stylebender’ turning ‘Poatan’s lights out in the second round. It was hilarious to see the shocked faces of Jon Anik, Daniel Cormier, and Joe Rogan after the impressive end of the fight.

While everybody was trying to take in and analyze the knockout, Joe Rogan seemed stunned and could only say, “Oh my goodness!” Daniel Cormier explained how Alex Pereira underestimated Adesanya’s power and paid the price for it. Jon Anik, by the way, confirmed that Izzy’s camp aimed to turn ‘Poatan’s aggression around on himself, which Adesanya did seamlessly.

Israel Adesanya and Jon Anik react on Instagram

Jon Anik shared a comment on UFC’s Instagram post and wrote: “Joe is strong.” This was in reference to the part in the video where Joe Rogan was so overwhelmed to see the knockout that he knocked Anik from the chair he was sitting on. In what looked like a gentle push, Anik just could not maintain his balance and fell out of his chair.

Israel Adesanya also didn’t hold back from reminding everybody that he finally broke the curse and defeated Alex Pereira once and for all. He commented: “3-1.” It is clear that the commentary team enjoys bringing energy and passion to the biggest matches in the sport.

Fans were amused after watching Joe Rogan shove Jon Anik out of his seat. They suggest that the 55-year-old commentator and podcast host goes easy on his testosterone therapy. They even joked about the fact that the real KO is Rogan pushing Anik out of his chair. The fans also claim that Cormier, Anik, and Rogan are arguably the best trio in commenting.

There is no shortage of contenders for the newly crowned UFC middleweight champion. Fighters like Dricus Du Plessis and Robert Whittaker are both yearning for a chance at fighting the Nigerian-born middleweight kingpin.
