Cody Garbrandt is known for having a great sense of fashion. From his tattoos to his suits and hairstyle, it’s all about style and fashion for him. So, when he gifted Joe Rogan a piece of jewelry, it wasn’t surprising. But what was surprising was the UFC commentator’s hesitancy to wear it! Why did he not want to put it on? Well, it seems he is scared of the Italian within him.

In a conversation with Tony Hinchcliffe on JRE episode #2081, Rogan shared why he didn’t wear the chain. Instead, he urged his wife to wear it. Smooth operator!

During the discussion, Joe Rogan revealed that the chain was made by Garbrandt’s personal jeweler. But what was the most intriguing things about it? “Cody Garbrandt gave me a gold chain that his jeweler made, and on one side is my face, and on the other side is my dog’s face,” Rogan revealed.

When Hinchcliffe asked the podcaster if he wore the chain, he stated, “No.” He continued, “I told my wife she has to wear it. She says, ‘I’m gonna wear the dog’s face’s out.’ I go, ‘The f*** you are. Wear with my face out wherever you go.” Rogan’s dog, Marshall Mae Rogan, is a golden retriever.

But Joe Rogan won’t wear the chain.“No, I’m afraid to ignite the Italian in me. I’m afraid to start wearing gold chains and sh*t, pinky rings. I don’t want to ignite that part of me,” he shared. Hinchcliffe agreed with the famous podcaster.

In fact, the 56-year-old even drew a parallel with Mike Tyson. In 2019, the legendary boxer was on ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ and when the host asked him if he works out, Tyson replied, “No… it reactivates my ego.” Like Tyson didn’t want to activate his ego, Joe Rogan didn’t want the Italian in him to wake up. But does he really have Italian origins?

Joe Rogan’s Italian side: Is he related to Gerard Way?

As per information available, Joe Rogan is of Irish and Italian ethnicity. Has had one Irish grandparent and his other three grandparents were Italian. Further, there are reports that claim that the former ‘Fear Factor’ host is related to My Chemical Romance’s lead vocalist, Gerard Way.

In fact, Joe Rogan confirmed this himself. In JRE  episode #1372 with Kevin Smith, while discussing the singer, the podcaster revealed, “Ya, we’re related.” Even Kevin Smith shared how Way knew he was related to Rogan. Now, Gerard Way is known to have half Italian and half Scottish heritage.

Joe Rogan further shared that they don’t know each other but are “cousins”.  Two famous people from the same family. Isn’t that interesting?
