Alex Pereira knocked out Jamahal Hill, aka ‘Sweet Dreams’, in a UFC 300 fight. Hill tried to maintain the dominance but Pereira had a better plan as he KO-ed his opponent in the first round. The 32-year-old did not take much time to get over the disheartening defeat, as just a few days after the fight, he expressed his desire to go one-on-one against Jiri Prochazka. Not his preferred opponent, but Hill got his wish of a fight fulfilled as Dana White booked him against another veteran fighter, Khalil Rountree Jr., at the UFC’s International Fight Week on June 29.
Apart from an opportunity for Jamahal Hill to bounce back, the UFC 303 clash might also decide the opponent for Alex Pereira’s next bout, as revealed by Joe Rogan and Max Holloway.

Not Jamahal Hill, but Joe Rogan and Max Holloway predicted Khalil Rountree Jr. as the potential contender for a title bout against Pereira. During the recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, the host recalled the 34-year-old’s fight with Eric Henderson to claim “Khalil is a monster.” He was backed by the BMF title winner who added, “Bro imagine Hill bro, imagine you are in this situation right? You are in his shoes. Like how you said, this guy just got knocked out bro you go out there, you knock this guy out guess what you are doing next fight? You are fighting for a title.”
“You are fighting Alex Pereira for a title. Imagine Khalil and Alex Pereira holy sh** man,” Rogan exclaimed. Meanwhile, the two also seemed concerned about the “fast turnaround” for Hill. Playing just months after getting knocked out can be a bitter experience for the Chicago native, especially when his opponent is Khalil Rountree Jr. Joe Rogan hilariously even mentioned that Khalil fights like someone who got something stolen from them because he shows his aggressive side inside the octagon.

Jamahal Hill denied getting knocked out by Pereira
This bout with Khalil Rountree Jr might be dangerous for Hill because Rountree is not someone who holds back. He is dangerous inside the octagon and White’s decision to book Hill just after his knockout was concerning to the fans and veterans alike. Hill got KO-ed by Pereira, but he denied it. He said in an interaction with MiddleEasy, “I wasn’t knocked out. I got hit with a good punch. Then I went down. I was defending, and then I got hit with some good follow-up shots, and [it] knocked my equilibrium off. I was not unconscious at no point.”

The fighter also addressed the concerns regarding his fight in UFC 303 while also revealing how he asked for a bout from the promotion. “I went to them [the UFC to demand a fight]… Sunday I told my manager ‘I still feel good, I feel ready to slide back into a fight’. Monday I got on another call with him and he got on a call with Mick and by Tuesday had a contract on the way,” Hill claimed.
