Is Conor McGregor the most entertaining combat sports promoter right now? Well, after ‘The Notorious’ took over as part owner of BKFC and stepped in as the primary promoter, fans seem to have no doubt in their minds that he might be up there with the likes of Dana White himself. That seems true after the former two-division UFC champ contiued creating highlight reels on the BKFC mic and built a new fanbase.

Although it’s true that McGregor often draws mixed reactions with his loud and brash way of promoting BKFC fights, it’s clear that his style isn’t for everyone. However, UFC color commentator Joe Rogan and American comedian Andrew Schulz have apparently become fans of how ‘The Notorious’ has been promoting the fights.

Joe Rogan and Andrew Schulz hilariously react to Conor McGregor promoting BKFC fights

At the Joe Rogan Experience #2396 with Andrew Schulz, the comedian started the conversation by saying, “Dude, Conor is like reaching final form as a promoter. It’s like he’s already so prolific, it’s obviously as a fighter etc. But watching him do the BKFC. I kind of wanna go to see him hype up fights. Like I wanna go to the press conference where he was just like, ‘Well if you don’t win, were firing you on the spot’, to Mike Perry.”

Schulz is definitely right here! Since Conor McGregor actually took the promotion into his own hands, BKFC has seen an astronomical rise in popularity. And the credit really goes to ‘Mystic Mac’s’ skills in creating viral moments with the microphone. Just like how the comedian has mentioned when McGregor went full trash-talk mode at BKFC 82, threatening to fire Perry if he lost his bout against Jeremy Stephens. But that’s not all.

After Schulz was done, Joe Rogan chimed in, saying, “He’s like chest bumping the guys who were fighting. Like, he’s not even fighting yet.” Although Joe perfectly summed up McGregor’s animated behavior, but he didn’t specify which event he was talking about.

So, two of the most famous people talking about the former UFC champ’s credibility with such high regard really shows how influential McGregor still is — even when he’s a promoter, not a fighter. Looking at BKFC’s rise, even former and retired UFC fighters have been flocking to the promotion to put on violent shows in front of the audience.

However, one ex-two-division champion, who’s also on the verge of retiring, has shown no interest in performing under McGregor’s promotion.

Henry Cejudo isn’t interested to fight at BKFC

The former UFC flyweight and bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo is all set to ride off into the sunset for the second time at UFC 323. He’ll face Payton Talbott on December 6th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, in what’s deemed to be his last fight under Dana White’s promotion. Still, at 38, fans believe ‘Triple C’ might have a few scraps left in him, and some even wanted to see him fighting without gloves. But he clearly denied  bare-knuckle as an option.

On the Pound 4 Pound podcast with Kamaru Usman, Cejudo said, “That’s a f—- sport where I’m just like Jesus, bro, last resort. I’d rather get into stripping than do BKFC, bro. On my life. If all these female UFC fighters can do it, why can’t I do it?” Well, that’s definitely an unusual example, but not an unexpected reaction from the former champ.

BKFC as a sport might be a little too nerve-wracking for fighters who are out of their prime and in their late 30s. With the level of violence involved, it’s far more brutal than the UFC and could create lingering issues for the fighters as well. Recently, former UFC lightweight champ Frankie Edgar was also pushed to join, but BKFC doctors later denied him clearance to fight. The reason? They believed his past knockouts could cause problems with recovery, which reportedly led to a bit of tension between them.

Still, Conor McGregor’s promotion managed to sign Yoel Romero and Thiago Santos, which actually shows their ever-growing roster. That said, do you believe BKFC can grow and someday rival the UFC in terms of popularity under ‘The Notorious’s’ leadership? Let us know in the comments section below.
