Joe Rogan, the UFC color commentator, has the dream job for all fight fans across the world. Rogan has been a commentator for the UFC for over 20 years, and he does an excellent job.
Rogan has a background in stand-up comedy and acting, both of which are very different from commentary. When it’s time for him to be invested in fights, he leaves all comedy behind while commentating, which is commendable.
He explained the seriousness of the sport on a recent episode of his podcast show. He also mentioned how MMA fans dislike it when other broadcasters with no expertise in the sport utilize their knowledge from other mainstreams to analyze MMA. Many believe he took a dig at sports broadcaster Stephen A. Smith when he said this.

Rogan said, “there is not a moment when I’m watching a great fight where I’m pretending. I am f***ing 100% tuned into that. They know I’m one of them. Like so when I’m talking about technique or I’m talking about like style matchups and what’s fascinating about it, they know I’m 100% genuine.”
“If you’re just a sports guy, and you’re bulls****ing… we’ve had few of those. Sports guys who come in and try to add like sports guy terminology that they might use for baseball or for football, and they try to apply that to MMA. MMA people get mad. They get mad. Because it’s a more personal form of competition. It’s more personal, more intense. It’s like you’re literally putting your health on the line,” he added.

Joe Rogan on his hardest profession
Joe Rogan has dabbled in a variety of professions over his career. He revealed what he considers being his most demanding job, which includes being an actor, a reality show presenter, a color commentator, a podcast host, and a stand-up comedian. Rogan ranked his professions from easy to hardest in an episode with psychologist Gad Saad.
He said, “stand-up is the most difficult of the three Stand up as you don’t get a chance to redo it. You can’t say I actually what meant to say is this. There is so much wiggle room in podcasting, which is probably the easiest. Stand up is the hardest and MMA it’s easy with a caveat.”
