UFC color commentator Joe Rogan’s podcast (The Joe Rogan Experience) is famous for a variety of reasons. On his podcast, Rogan discusses a variety of topics such as health, martial arts, science, etc. During one of the episodes, the UFC icon discussed quite a unique topic that often gets ignored. He pointed out the double standards of people who mispronounce the name of MMA legend Fedor Emelianenko, but get the pronounciation of Arnold Schwarzenegger right.

Rogan said, “Well, Fedor. Fedor Emelianenko, that’s not how you say his name. His name is Fyodor.”

He further added, “For whatever reason, they decided, people can’t say Fyodor, so you can call it Fedor. But, people can say Schwarzenegger. They can say Arnold Schwarzenegger. That works okay, but Fyodor is hard?”

Rogan, who pointed out this difference, has seemed to be a fan of Fedor Emelianenko. He even addressed the fact of the UFC supposedly not wanting ‘The Last Emperor’ in the promotion.

Joe Rogan on the UFC not wanting Fedor Emelianenko

It is a fact that MMA legend, Fedor Emelianenko has never ever stepped foot in a UFC octagon. There were speculations that the promotion was not interested in signing the Russian heavyweight legend. The UFC commentator chimed in that the promotion tried to make a fair deal, but both parties could not come to terms.

Rogan further added that if Fedor ever came on board at the UFC, it would be awesome and in case Emelianenko does not end up coming, that would be cool too.

The Russian MMA legend has plied his trade for almost every major MMA promotion in the world. Currently, Emelianenko is signed to Bellator MMA, where he competes in the heavyweight division. A legend in the fight game, fans regret not seeing the 45-year-old in the UFC octagon. As ‘The Last Emperor’ will turn 46 this year, the chances of that happening seem low.
