Joe Rogan questions Khabib Nurmagomedov’s legacy
While talking to Joe Rogan on episode #152 of the JRE MMA Show, Sean Brady confessed how relieved he felt after his first career loss. Brady fell to fellow welterweight Belal Muhammad at UFC 280 in the former’s 16th professional outing. While it was a difficult pill to swallow, Brady said it was a weight off.
He added that while being undefeated was a remarkable feat, it was also okay to lose when you’re fighting the best, as is the case with most fighters. Rogan, however, interrupted, highlighting that Jon Jones stood out as the only fighter with a flawless record, having never suffered a defeat-“The only one who didn’t is Jon Jones”
Brady threw in Khabib Nurmagomedov’s name, saying he would have faced some tight situations in his career if he had stuck around longer. Then, Rogan brought up the contentious bout against Gleison Tibau. “Gleison Tibau is very debatable” said Rogan.
Brady added, “I watched that fight back… very close…,” said Brady. Interestingly, Joe Rogan was present cageside during the fight and his words will definitely be ammunition for Khabib critics. However, the man himself has a different take on the contest. A while back, Nurmagome͏dov shed light on his performance in the fight, adding to the discussion.

‘The Eagle’ revealed that he stepped into his second UFC fight at the age of 23, navigating the cage environment while still adjusting to the shift from the ring, which was his usual battleground back in Russia. He shared that adapting to the cage dynamics posed a challenge, given his prior experience in the ring. “I was 23 years old and I have only one fight in UFC and it was [the] second time in my life I see cage,” said the former champion.
