Comedy shows have been the bedrock of the entertainment industry. No matter what you see, a tincture of comedy must be there to lighten the mood and set the stage of the show, and among these comedy dramas, some shows stood above everyone else, according to Joe Rogan. In his latest take, the podcaster explained that some shows are better than others while taking some examples.
The 200 million dollars worth Rogan had the opportunity to host the stand-up comic, actor, writer, director, and host of the podcast ‘Blocks’, Neal Brennan, in his podcast episode number Joe Rogan Experience #2135. During episode #2135 with guest Neal Brennan, Joe Rogan engaged in a conversation about different classes of comedy shows. According to Rogan, South Park and Chappelle’s Show, both from Comedy Central, were examples of a certain class. The podcaster has been a fan of both the shows and to him, these shows were at the top of the chain.
“South Park was South Park before Comedy Central was Comedy Central. Right, Comedy Central, they were a little wilder back then. Comedy Central was kind of the renegade, yeah, you know? And then South Park became so undeniable, you had to just leave them alone,” said Rogan. Responding to the podcaster’s thoughts, Brennan emphasized that Dave Chappelle’s Show was pretty epic in its own manner back in the 2000s era.

Rogan emphasized that Dave Chappelle was a sensation at his peak. He further explained that his existence in comedy changed the way people take it and mentioned that Chappelle hit the cultural mark on everyone. “It hit, it hit a cultural landmark. Yeah, it hit this thing where Chappelle show was the show. It’s like ‘when is it on when is it on again?'” exclaimed the 56-year-old.
Time and time again, Rogan has asserted that comedy is the bedrock of civilization. However, it seems like it is being canceled by the elites for now.

Rogan is worried about the worsening state of comedy
While having a conversation about South Park with the host of More Plates More Dates Derek last year, Rogan mentioned that there is a lack of proper comedy shows in America now because of the imminence of cancel culture in the country. He further praised the creators of South Park for continuing their offensive jokes, even though there has been a lot of condemnation behind it.
“They’re the only show that Comedy Central leaves alone … there’s no way you could make ‘South Park’ today if you were an unknown group of cartoonists. No chance. They would never let you. It’s too crazy. But it’s the only good show on the network, so they kind of have to let it go,” said Rogan.
