Joe Rogan, the UFC commentator and famous podcast host, recently revealed the reason behind a mysterious surge in his Twitter followers after the Tesla CEO Elon Musk offered to buy the platform.

The South African billionaire shocked the world a few months back. He made a lucrative offer to buy the famous social media platform Twitter. Being his close acquaintance, the UFC color commentator Rogan supported Musk’s decision, as the latter also claimed to use the platform for free speech.

However, amidst the deal, Rogan sensed something unusual happening with his Twitter account. In one episode of his podcast, the 54-year-old stated that he saw a huge surge in his Twitter followers after the South African billionaire made the offer.

However, now Rogan has figured out the reason behind the increase in his Twitter followers. In recent talks with a famous Canadian writer, Megan Murphy Rogan said, “One of the weird things that is happening now with Elon Musk buying Twitter or attempting to buy Twitter. They have done something different. And one of the things they have done different is I gained now its 900 thousand followers in the month or so…”

“I think I was in a box. I think I was restricted somewhere… something’s was going on I am just guessing. The other option could be their bots that I have gained 900 thousand bots. But it’s like every time I look it’s another hundred thousand it’s crazy. It grows faster than anything,” Rogan concluded.

Has Elon Musk acquired Twitter

In April, the South African billionaire proposed a deal to completely acquire the social media platform Twitter. And as a part of the deal, Elon Musk offered an insane sum of $44 billion to the Twitter board.

Interestingly, the Twitter board signed an agreement with the Tesla CEO. However, the deal is yet to come to fruition, and it has been a long wait for Musk. Hence, out of frustration, Musk threatened to walk away from the deal.

According to many reports, the company also hasn’t given Musk information about its spam bot and fake accounts. Therefore, the South African billionaire expressed discomfort towards the deal.
