Commentating on UFC fights is surely not an easy task. Commentators do make mistakes sometimes. Thus, Joe Rogan came to the defense of his fellow commentators in a recent episode of his podcast.

Rogan and his guest, UFC fighter Bobby Green, discussed several things on ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’. At one point, they began discussing how people have been giving Rogan’s fellow commentator Paul Felder a tough time.

Rogan said, “It’s hard, man. You’re thinking in real-time. You’re thinking in real-time in middle of fights. No, I f**k it up to, man. … It’s just no way around it, man. It’s a weird thing. You’re in the middle of calling something. You get excited, you get emotional, you’re attached, you know people, you know. You have ideas in your head about how you thought it was going to be versus how it’s actually happening, you know.”

“Every commentator experiences all of those things. … That’s all the stuff that I had to go through,” said Rogan.

Thus, being one of the most sought-after commentators in the UFC, Rogan sure does understand the tough aspects of the job.

Like Felder, Daniel Cormier too had received criticism for his commentary earlier. Many thought ‘DC‘ was biased. Rogan himself has received similar criticism for his commentary. Hence, he made sure to point out aspects of the job that can be rather difficult.

Rogan is not new to criticism. Topics discussed on his podcast as well as aspects of his UFC commentary have been criticized in the past.

However, his career as a podcaster and comedian seems to blend with his long UFC stint. Further, he is a staple name in the promotion. When his podcast was in the hot waters, he was incidentally also not present at UFC 271. This caused fans to question his absence at the event.
